The ongoing recovery on the stock markets has attracted new interested parties in the ETF segment. Investments have been broadly diversified in recent days.
29 August 2023. FRANKFURT (Börse Frankfurt). "With turnover picking up, we were able to record around 30 percent more purchases than sales," Holger Heinrich from Baader Bank sums up. Similar trends are also evident at ICF Bank, but not at too high a level. "For a really strong increase in activity, a major correction is probably needed, or else a jump to new all-time highs," suspects Jan Duisberg.
A well-marketed "revolution"
High on the shopping list of ETF buyers are currently globally oriented products such as the MSCI World ETFs from Amundi (LU2572257124), Deka (DE000ETFL508) or Invesco (IE00B60SX394). Fittingly, Duisberg reports strong demand for the L&G Gerd Kommer Multifactor Equity ETF (IE0001UQQ933). The product has only been listed on the market for a good two months, but has already made big waves in the industry. The initiator is the book author and asset manager Gerd Kommer, who is also known as the "ETF Pope". He himself describes the new fund as an "ETF revolution". According to Duisberg, the product is well received by investors "also because of the good marketing". "By mixing an active and passive approach, the fund is expected to outperform the MSCI World.

Small caps, dividends and leveraged ETFs
Looking at European markets, Heinrich sees increased interest in small caps and dividend strategies in addition to standard securities such as Amundi MSCI Europe (LU1861137484) or Lyxor Core STOXX Europe 600 (LU0908500753). Baader Bank's focus here is, for example, on the iShares MSCI EMU Small Cap (IE00B3VWMM18) and the Xtrackers EURO STOXX Quality Dividend (LU0292095535).
In the U.S. segment, on the other hand, the trader observes comparatively high turnover in multi-leveraged products such as the WisdomTree NASDAQ 100 3x Daily Short (IE00BLRPRJ20), which benefits from price setbacks in the tech sector, or two ETFs from Xtrackers, which can be used to speculate on falling (LU0322251520) or rising (LU0411078552) prices of the S&P 500.Bond ETFs and crypto ETPs in demand

The ETF specialists also see increased demand again in the area of crypto ETPs. While at ICF Bank the focus is primarily on Ethereum (CH0454664027) and Bitcoin (DE000A28M8D0), at Lang & Schwarz the 21Shares Ripple (CH0454664043) and the VanEck Crypto Leaders (DE000A3GWEU3) are traded in addition to another Bitcoin product (DE000A27Z304).

Fabian Wörndl, who trades ETFs for Lang & Schwarz, also observes continued very brisk trading in leveraged natural gas ETFs. On the shopping list are especially the products of WisdomTree. These reflect the performance of the commodity futures with triple leverage. Either long (IE00BLRPRG98) or short (IE00B76BRD76).
