Lyxor offers exposure to larger green bonds, issued in euros or U.S. dollars with investment grade ratings, with a new bond ETF.
14 September 2021. FRANKFURT (Börse Frankfurt). Since Tuesday, a new exchange traded fund issued by Lyxor International Asset Management has been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt.
The Lyxor Corporate Green Bond (DR) UCITS ETF - Acc gives investors access to fixed-rate, euro- and US dollar-denominated green corporate bonds worldwide. In addition to an investment-grade rating, the debt instruments must have a minimum outstanding volume of €300 million and a remaining maturity of at least one year at the time of admission.
The issuers of the bonds are mainly focused on the financials, utilities, and real estate sectors, with headquarters in the USA and Europe.
Green bonds are debt instruments which have a positive impact on the environment. They are issued to finance climate and environmental projects to reduce greenhouse gases and promote a more climate-friendly economy. These include alternative and renewable energies, sustainable forestry and agriculture, sustainable water management, low-carbon transportation and infrastructure, and the reduction of waste and pollution.
Companies that violate applicable international standards and principles or with significant business activities in the areas of tobacco, alcohol, gambling, adult entertainment, thermal coal, genetically modified organisms, and controversial weapons are excluded from the index.
In this share class, accruing coupon payments are reinvested. The weighting of an issuer is limited to a maximum of 5 per cent.
