Siemens Energy moves up to the DAX. Porsche, Beiersdorf, Encavis AG and Nordex SE are admitted to the MDAX. The SDAX and TecDAX are also adjusted.
4 March 2021. STOXX Ltd, Deutsche Börse's global index subsidiary, announced on 22 March 2021 changes to the composition of the DAX, MDAX, SDAX and TecDAX selection indices.
One change in the DAX
- Siemens Energy AG replaces Beiersdorf AG, which moves to the MDAX (regular entry rule).
Four changes in the MDAX
- Beiersdorf AG switches with new DAX member Siemens Energy AG.
- Porsche Automobil Holding replaces Aareal Bank AG due to admission of all companies in the Regulated Market for the selection indices.
- Encavis AG replaces Metro AG
- Nordex SE replaces Osram Licht AG
The last three changes are based on the fast-entry or fast-exit rule.
Five changes in the SDAX
- Osram Licht AG and Metro AG switch with MDAX climbers Nordex SE and Encavis AG.
- Aareal Bank AG replaces Hornbach Baumarkt AG under the Fast Entry Rule.
- Suess Microtec SE replaces Cropenergies AG under the regular-exit rule.
- Leoni AG replaces Deutsche Beteiligungs AG under the regular-entry rule.
- SGL Carbon replaces SNP Schneider-Neureither & Partner SE under the regular-entry rule.
One change in the TecDAX
- SMA Solar Technology AG replaces New Work SE according to the fast-entry rule.
New index rules take effect
The basis for the changes are also the new rules introduced as part of the current DAX reform on 25 February:
- Qualification for the DAX selection indices for all issuers on the Regulated Market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
- Mandatory financial reporting for annual financial statements and quarterly reports (comparable to current Prime Standard requirements).
- Obligation via proof of an audit committee in the supervisory board
- Regular DAX review additionally also in March
- The DAX reform will be completed in September. The next date for the scheduled review of the DAX index family is 3 June 2021.
