Exit

Sale of a participation in a new company by a venture capital firm

Venture capital companies are usually very well-informed with respect to the earnings position of the company in which they have invested. If it becomes known that a venture capital company wishes to sell its participation in a company, potential buyers are often suspicious – and with good reason.

For this reason, venture capital companies have four exit options: buyback, trade -sale, secondary purchase, and Going Public.

Our glossary explains important financial terms and should not leave any questions unanswered. However, if you are missing a definition, please write to us at redaktion@deutsche-boerse.com. We will then include the term if possible.
