Basis point

A measure used world-wide to quote changes in bond interest rates and yields

One basis point relates to 0.01 percentage points. Thus, if the interest rate or yield of a bond rises by 0.63 percentage points, this corresponds to an increase by 63 basis points.

Our glossary explains important financial terms and should not leave any questions unanswered. However, if you are missing a definition, please write to us at redaktion@deutsche-boerse.com. We will then include the term if possible.
