Black-Scholes model

Formula used to determine the value of options and warrants

Named after the American economists Black and Scholes, this formula takes into account the five most important determinants for the price of an option: the price of the underlying stock, the exercise price, the time remaining to expiration, interest rate levels and volatility.

Our glossary explains important financial terms and should not leave any questions unanswered. However, if you are missing a definition, please write to us at redaktion@deutsche-boerse.com. We will then include the term if possible.
